This was definately the sickest KNH so far. The party was insane, it was extremely hot and crowded...but that just made it more awesome. You should have smelled my t-shirt afterwards! The music was hard and I've seen a lot of familiar faces.
The sickest KNH so far = Sickest pictures on a KNH so far!! Check 'em out!
Kraak & Smaak performed on Grote Markt, The Hague. It was a funky performance. I decided to just climb on stage to took some awesome pictures. Here are the pictures of that evening and also a couple of the day after.
Here are the pictures of "Multiple Jam" in Amsterdam-Muiderpoort. It was a small event, with poppin' battle's and one on one battle's. The winner of the one on one battle's was sjoerdje, a.k.a. Lil' Hotstepper.
Hope you enjoy the pictures, because of the darkness in there it was hard to shoot pictures.
I was in Amsterdam last weekend to try out my new camera-lens. It's a canon 50mm lens with F/1.8 maximum aperture. The lens will give you perfect sharp shots, and a nice depth in your pictures. I needed to try it out somewehere, and where else than Amsterdam. I also had time to buy some tee's. (I got me a Sixpack/France and an Obey shirt)
Finally, the pictures of "North Sea Jam" @ De Grote Markt are done. The event was pretty awesome! The crew battles were intense and the battles after that, with al the different countries, were dope. And I had a first-row-on-stage-close-to-all-the-action-good-for-shooting-pictures...spot. The light was a real gift from god, I didn't had to use my flash and I could keep the Shutter Speed of my camera pretty high.
I have one thing to say about the crew battle's though. I always thought that losing was the worst thing that can happen. BUT NO losing and crying at the judges because you disagree with there opinion is way worse. Go and make the crowd scream boo is very disrespectfull against the other crew. Then claiming a Tie Breaker and one of the dancers you select isn't (really) in your crew will complete the whole definition of a sore loser.
I thought breakin' battles were mostly for the fun of dancing, but some people just care about winning... it's sad.
However the pictures turned out awesome, if you want 1 in better quality just email me or something!
Awesome video for the song "The Parachute Ending" by Birdy Nam Nam. Justice is responsible for the production of the song, that's probably why it has that justice sound to it. The video is directed by Steve Scott, and ofcourse don't forget the animators, concept designers, illustrators animators etc. I think that for the video they kinda looked at the 1981 film 'Heavy Metal' for ispiration. The drawing style and animation looks a bit the same. Wich is good, because it is an awesome style wich is also 'used' in the South Park Episode "Major Boobage". It's an awesome, creative, inspiring video that fits the song very good!
Damn this was a hella-awesome event! There was poppin', lockin', new style and ofcourse Breakin'. There were 2 on 2 battles, a kiddie battle and crew battles.
The light at paradiso is very good, so i climbed on stage and shot some awesome pictures. I shot like more than 350 pictures so it was pretty difficult to choose the best, however i was able to select a little over 100 pictures. I know, still a lot, but whatever.
One thing....picasa doesn't respect the quality of my pictures, but if you like one i can send you a high quality picture... just let me know!
This was a nice event. Crew battle's, 2 on 2's, cypher session and poppin' battle's. The crew battle's were pretty dope, the final: Bomber Kids Vs. Hustle Kids... (guess who won). I was a bit too late for all the 2 on 2 battles. But my "warm up" pictures start right in a 2 on 2 batlle. The cypher session was hectic and in my opinion those french bboy's didn't win. The litlle dude from Bomberkids, lil' Hotstepper, smoked everyone who dared to enter and in my opinion he was the king of the circle. But I am not a judge so... too bad.
And the training session afterwards was really nice, everybody was having fun and didn't want to leave.
I did learn something very important though: my fisheye lens, low light area's with people who move fast... is not a good combo! A lot of the pictures were blurry and focused badly....... sooo learnt my lesson there.
